Ephesians 5: 8-14
I am planning to preach on the Ephesians passage. At first glance, I am again caught up in the beauty of the writing! My second thoughts are to spend some time exploring how this text may help inform those who have adopted Lenten practices that involves Bible reading, prayer, and other spiritual commitments for Lent. It may serve as a reminder of the reason for spiritual discipline, in part to expose our less than desirable sides to the light! A few in my congregation continue to adopt practices of "giving up" something for Lent, so I will want to speak to how this process serves to "shed light" into one's life.
